Other than that, this video includes 64 first-time winners in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: every first-time winner from 1979 to the present day, plus Tiny Lund (1963), Mario Andretti (1967), and Pete Hamilton's (1970) Daytona 500 wins.

Wimmer33fan1 Says:

Jun 28, 2011 - Johnny Benson really deserved his. For those who don't know why: Led the most laps in his ROOKIE season at Indy before a pit road mishap, Leading the Daytona 500 in a near unsponsored car with less than 10 to go, finished second I can't remember how many times... do I need to go on? Then Benson lost his ride in 2004, and I think he deserves another shot at it. He can get the job done, he just needs the equipment.

Aug 27, 2011 - you're gonna have to update this now that we have FIVE first timers this season and possibly a 6th (my bet is allmendinger).

Jamersonde Says:

Sep 28, 2011 - @AutoRockinRacing94 Amen to that! Tony CLEARLY forced Regan down to make sure his win got taken from him. I like Smoke now, but that wasn't the case in 2008. Forever a Dega winner, Regan Smith will cross the stripe first there again and not be below the lines the 2nd time. Go Regan!!

Jamersonde Says:

Sep 28, 2011 - @CenterTurk It's now 69 first-time winners, 69 likes, thanks to the 5 winners from this year & my like added to the previous 68. :D :D

Oct 13, 2011 - "REGAN, I WANT YOU TO GO OUT THERE, AND HIT THE PACE CAR!!!" "Hit the pace car?" "HIT THE PACE CAR!!!"

gobackto82 Says:

Oct 13, 2011 - @Jamersonde Wait, that means Regan one two times, so it would be 68.

Jamersonde Says:

Oct 13, 2011 - @gobackto82 You're referring to the '08 win that was taken from him, right?

gobackto82 Says:

Oct 13, 2011 - @Jamersonde Yes. That win was in the video though.
